Last week I had the pleasure of seeing an incredible exhibition by the artist Elsi Eldridge at Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw in Llanbedrog, North Wales. Her work is amazing, displaying a startling range of subject and style - from exquisite commercial work to lucid drawings, bold paintings, and even sculpture. I was very inspired to see and feel such a strong presence from an artist who had not just created a lifetime of wonderful work, but was also a teacher, a mother, and a wife to the well-known poet, RS Thomas. The photo below was taken at St. Hywyn's Church in Aberdaron where RS Thomas was once a vicar.
As a postnote, I am now intrigued about one of her murals that was moved to Glyndwr University Wrexham in 2011 - who could have known such a striking piece was literally on my doorstep?! And is it open to the public?
