A few months ago I was approached by visual artist Anglea Davies to collaborate on her project 'Golau' at my local National Trust property, Chirk Castle.  Chirk is an incredible Medieval castle set in beautiful surroundings.

Angela is responding to the landscape of North East Wales and the Castle within her own practice, and has invited other artists to work alongside each other in a communal journey to a site-specific response, culminating in an exhibition and live performance.

It has been fantastic communicating with Karen Heald (film), Ant Dickinson (sound artist), Angelina Kornecka (dancer) and Paula Budd (costume desgin) under Angela's guidance.  So far we have all been working on our own responses, and meeting in the Adam Tower at Chirk to understand the space and work together across our practices. Ant and myself undertook some field recordings that we have both experimented with, and I can safely say that was the first time I have 'played' the bobbins in a dungeon!

This Saturday January 25th Angela has an Open Studio at Ruthin Craft Centre, with myself and Karen taking part later in the day during the Artist Talk.  Come listen!
